Parent Groups

We view our partnerships with families as one of the most important keys to student success.  Sakamoto has many ways for parents to get involved!

Hispanic Parent Group

Parents of Latino students are invited to join Mrs. Enna once a month for networking and learning about relevant topics related to the school and educational programs. This parent group also plans and hosts the annual Dia de Los Muertos Around the World.  Meetings and events are posted on our school community calendar.

School Site Council (SSC)

Our SSC is an elected group of staff and parents.  The basic role of the SSC is to plan, monitor, and evaluate the activities and expenditures for the Single Plan, and review the Safe School Plan.

The SSC has the opportunity to create effective plans based on the unique needs of its school site.  Each council member's input and perspective is important to the success of a SSC as he/she represents that portion of the school community.  Meetings are open and copies of the minutes are available upon request. The meeting dates, times, and locations are posted on the school community calendar
